Harvest and Vine, based in Austin, Texas, is the life and love of Stephanie Piland, an industry consultant for privately owned restaurants, cafes, wine bars, catering companies, food trucks and food retail. Stephanie has built a nearly two-decade's long career with food related businesses in Texas and along the east coast, working as operations director for James Beard nominated restaurants, functioning as a big-picture consultant for a multi-site, specialty retail concept and leading systems creation for administration, human resources and bookeeping for a small, developing catering company.  

Stephanie is a northeastern North Carolina native who from an early age developed a strong understanding of the connectedness between the land, rivers and sea and what is served on the dinner table.  In the late 1990s, while in school in Chapel Hill, NC, Stephanie worked with a progressive restaurateur who was dedicated to serving local product prepared true to the American regional traditions that inspired his dishes; her imagination was captured by the never-ending challenge of working and learning alongside other engaged professionals.  A couple years later, after a move out of her home state up to Baltimore, Maryland, her career in hospitality and restaurants exploded into a far more exciting adventure than could have been imagined.  After nearly 10 years with the ForemanWolf restaurant group, honing business fundamentals, broadening her understanding of international food traditions and strengthening her technical background to work in more advanced service cultures, Stephanie struck out into the wild and began consulting independently through Harvest and Vine.

Committed to the people who have chosen a life centered around food and connected to their communities, Stephanie brings organization, cohesion, fairness, patience and consistency into every operation she touches.  It is the mission of Harvest and Vine to build capable, consistent Front of House teams, improve product management in Back of House and connect the two with clear, efficient Back Office systems, ultimately driving increased market share and profitability.

Stephanie is motivated by connecting with and supporting Austin's food scene, from all its varied angles. A specialist in systems creation/implementation, numbers management and restaurant leadership fundamentals, Stephanie is thrilled to be a part of the growth and prosperity of the Austin food community.
